Charles (Bill) Seedorff’s first thoughts of Seedorff Masonry were formed as he watched superintendent and ex-bricklayer, Burton North, build an addition to the high school in Arlington, Iowa. This inspiration coupled, with his vision, led Seedorff Masonry, Inc. to become one of the top ten masonry-contracting firms in the United States. In 1994, Bill was honored with the Build Iowa Award presented by the Master Builders of Iowa. This was the first time the award was given to a subcontractor.
His standards of performance are based on his emphasis on quality and his investment in his employees and their safety. This forward thinking has allowed Seedorff Masonry to develop projects such as the Iowa State Capitol, Alliant Tower, Coe College Library, Westdale Mall, Lindale Mall, Mercy Medical Center, and St. Luke’s Hospital, as well as many others.
Seedorff has been active in our community giving of his time, talent and treasure to numerous educational, medical, religious and civic organizations. However, the true measure of his contributions epitomizes his “lead by example” mentality within the construction industry and in life.
