At JA of Eastern Iowa, we host several events throughout the year to raise money to support our programming. These events also engage the community in our efforts to reach students! Whether you'd like to get involved on an individual level or as a business through event sponsorship, we offer several ways for you to support our work while having a great time!

Corridor JA Stock Market Challenge
When: Thursday, April 25, 2024Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa's (JAEI) 5th Annual JA Stock Market Challenge event allows participants to experience the fast pace, cut throat day in the life of a stock market trader. The Stock Market Challenge is a technology based simulation of the stock market in which every 60 seconds represents a day of trading. Beginning with a hypothetical account balance of $500,000, the stakes are high and the competition is fierce. There will be a straight forward student competition during the day and a no holds barred adult version in the evening.

Corridor Business Hall of Fame
When: Thursday, September 19, 2024Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa is currently accepting nominations for three elite individuals to be inducted as Laureates and one to be inducted as an Entrepreneur into the Corridor Business Hall of Fame. The event is to be held in September of 2024. Nominations for these prestigious awards will be accepted through Friday, March 29, 2024.

JA Finance Park Mobile Pilot
When: Wednesday, January 17, 2024 - Thursday, January 18, 2024JA Finance Park® Mobile is Junior Achievement’s capstone program for personal financial planning and career exploration. This program, comprising a curriculum and a simulation, helps students build a foundation on which they can make intelligent financial decisions that last a lifetime, including decisions related to income, expenses, savings, and credit.
This educator-led classroom curriculum culminates with a visit to JA Finance Park, a realistic mobile facility, where students engage with volunteers and put into practice what they’ve learned by developing a personal budget.

JA BizTown Mobile pilot
When: Monday, May 01, 2023 - Friday, May 12, 2023The JA BizTown® Mobile program provides educators with lessons and resources to effectively integrate financial literacy and work and career readiness into the elementary school classroom. The program supports critical thinking skills and student engagement, and helps students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
JA BizTown® Mobile culminates in an on-site mobile simulation experience where students operate a simulated community complete with stores, financial institutions, and a City Hall!

2022 Cedar Valley Business Hall of Fame
When: Thursday, October 20, 2022The 2022 Cedar Valley Business Hall of Fame, presented by First Interstate Bank, formerly Great Western Bank, marks the 28th anniversary of celebrating distinguished business leaders who have established a legacy of leadership within their industries and our community. Three laureates will be inducted into the Cedar Valley Business Hall of Fame, joining the elite group of past honorees, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.

JA Titan Challenge Competition - Regional
When: Wednesday, April 07, 2021 - Wednesday, April 14, 2021The NEW JA Titan® Challenge is a regional day-long competition which places high school junior and senior students in the CEO seat to help increase their understanding of business. Young entrepreneurs are taught in an engaging way about the nuances of running a global business in a competitive, high tech marketplace. Schools in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, and surrounding areas are welcome to join.
