April 2025: Financial Literacy Month – Empowering the Next Generation

April is Financial Literacy Month, and Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa (JAEI) is committed to equipping students with the financial knowledge needed for future success. Financial literacy is a critical life skill, yet many students lack access to essential education on budgeting, saving, credit, and investing. JAEI bridges this gap through interactive, real-world programs that prepare young people for financial independence.
Through partnerships with local business volunteers, JA programs bring financial education to classrooms, offering students firsthand insights into money management and career readiness. In the 2023-2024 school year, JAEI reached 41,065 students across 128 schools in 13 counties, delivering 202,289 instructional hours with the help of 1,399 volunteers.
JA’s Financial Literacy Pathway provides age-appropriate programs for elementary, middle, and high school students, helping them build strong financial habits. Survey results show that 93% of students feel confident in managing their financial future after participating in JA programs.
Support JAEI’s mission this Financial Literacy Month by donating or getting involved. Together, we can empower the next generation with financial knowledge for lifelong success. Learn more at JAEI's website.
