At JA of Eastern Iowa, we host several events throughout the year to raise money to support our programming. These events also engage the community in our efforts to reach students! Whether you'd like to get involved on an individual level or as a business through event sponsorship, we offer several ways for you to support our work while having a great time!

JA Stock Market Challenge Cedar Rapids
When: Thursday, April 25, 2024Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa's (JAEI) 5th Annual JA Stock Market Challenge event allows participants to experience the fast pace, cut throat day in the life of a stock market trader. The Stock Market Challenge is a technology based simulation of the stock market in which every 60 seconds represents a day of trading. Beginning with a hypothetical account balance of $500,000, the stakes are high and the competition is fierce. There will be a straight forward student competition during the day and a no holds barred adult version in the evening.

When: Thursday, October 12, 2023The 2023 Cedar Valley Business Hall of Fame, presented by First Interstate Bank, marks the 29th anniversary of celebrating distinguished business leaders who have established a legacy of leadership within their industries and our community. Three laureates and one emerging entrepreneur will be inducted into the Cedar Valley Business Hall of Fame, joining the elite group of past honorees, on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

JA BizTown Mobile pilot
When: Monday, May 01, 2023 - Friday, May 12, 2023The JA BizTown® Mobile program provides educators with lessons and resources to effectively integrate financial literacy and work and career readiness into the elementary school classroom. The program supports critical thinking skills and student engagement, and helps students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
JA BizTown® Mobile culminates in an on-site mobile simulation experience where students operate a simulated community complete with stores, financial institutions, and a City Hall!

JA Titan Challenge Competition - Regional
When: Wednesday, April 07, 2021 - Wednesday, April 14, 2021The NEW JA Titan® Challenge is a regional day-long competition which places high school junior and senior students in the CEO seat to help increase their understanding of business. Young entrepreneurs are taught in an engaging way about the nuances of running a global business in a competitive, high tech marketplace. Schools in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, and surrounding areas are welcome to join.
