As an Education Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in bringing JA programs to life. You’ll serve as the bridge between schools, volunteers, and business partners—ensuring students across Eastern Iowa have access to transformational learning experience.
Impact
The Education Coordinator is a front-line relationship builder who works to connect the business community with our local school districts through experiential learning opportunities. As part of a collaborative team environment, this role provides direct support to schools, businesses and individual volunteers to train them on the Junior Achievement experiences focused on career readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship, as well as coordinates all logistics for several student events and experiences throughout the year, including summer enrichment opportunities. This is a full-time position with competitive wages.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Cedar Rapids, IA 52401
Primary Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES:
- Renew and recruit experiential learning volunteer commitments throughout the community.
- Engage the local business community in career readiness events – both existing relationships and new prospects.
- Collaborate with school personnel to successfully organize student experiences.
- Support logistics before, during and after each Experiential Learning experience, including Career Speakers events, JA Career Inspire, JA Stock Market Challenge and others.
- Participates in additional experiential learning activities such as JA BizTown, JA Finance Park, JA Dream Accelerator, and newly formed partnerships to bring learning to life.
- Manage program quality through training programs and evaluations.
- Market new and updated program opportunities to teachers.
- Oversee the planning and execution of summer enrichment programs with schools and other community partners.
- Local travel to schools and businesses for student events, ELC simulations, and trainings.
Qualifications (required)
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

- Act as a team player by appropriately involving others in decisions and plans that affect them. Regularly invites and builds on the ideas and input of colleagues, work groups and committees.
- Consistently make sound decisions on everyday issues. Demonstrate a drive to work towards resolving routine and unexpected problems with innovative and alternative solutions.
- Ability to manage data appropriately and efficiently. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Inspire and energize others to action to further Junior Achievement’s mission by clarifying the purpose and impact.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and demonstrate capacity to actively listen.
