In celebration of National Alumni Month, Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa is thrilled to highlight alumni who have been shaped by Junior Achievement (JA) programs and continue to inspire others. This spotlight features Josie Bedard, whose journey from a JA student to a marketing professional exemplifies the lifelong impact of Junior Achievement.
Meet Josie Bedard
Josie Bedard, originally from the Quad Cities, now resides in Iowa City. A proud graduate of the University of Iowa, she earned her B.B.A. in Marketing along with a certificate in Event Management. After gaining experience in Cedar Rapids, Josie transitioned to her current role as Marketing Coordinator for South Slope. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Josie enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring new destinations, and actively engaging in her community.
A JA Journey: From Classroom to Career
Josie’s involvement with Junior Achievement began in elementary school, where she participated in JA classroom lessons and experienced the dynamic, hands-on learning environment of JA BizTown®. These early interactions provided her with invaluable insights into the real world, sparking a curiosity and drive that would shape her future.

Junior Achievement left a lasting impression on Josie’s career and educational path. Through JA, she developed critical skills such as teamwork, decision-making, and financial literacy—skills that continue to be instrumental in her adult life.
