JA Take Stock in Your Future® introduces students to the stock market. This program may include two components: a classroom curriculum, and for many participants, the JA Stock Market Challenge competition event. The classroom curriculum comprises five sessions that introduce students to basic concepts about how the stock market works and the impact of current events on the stock market. The program also includes multiple self-guided extension activities that engage students in deeper learning about the stock market and investing.

Following participation in the program, students will be able to:

-- Understand foundational concepts of stocks.
-- Analyze today's stock market.
-- Put market knowledge and skills into practice.
-- Understand the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy.
-- Examine the risks and rewards of trading.

JA Take Stock in Your Future is part of the JA Financial Literacy Pathway with a secondary focus on Work and Career Readiness Pathway.

It is recommended for high school students (Grades 9-12) and can be implemented as a classroom based, remote live, or after school program. The volunteer and educator led program includes five 45- minute sessions, with additional extended learning activities and optional digital assets offered throughout, including an optional online or site-based JA Stock Market Challenge competition.

JA teachers and volunteers are encouraged, as part of this program, to utilize the resources available in JA Connect® Learning Pathways, located at connect.ja.org. This self-guided experience includes interactives, JA Here to Career, and games and apps for student use.

JA programs support national and state standards in reading, mathematics, social studies, and work and career readiness. See below for more information on alignment with national and state standards.
