JA BizTown® combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. (Grades 4-6)

JA BizTown® Mobile brings the “real world” directly to Eastern Iowa schools now through April 2026 — giving thousands of students the chance to step into adulthood for a day and take charge of a simulated economy.

Before their visit, students complete classroom lessons on budgeting, saving, careers, and responsible money management. Then, inside BizTown® Mobile, those skills come to life. Students are assigned jobs, earn paychecks, open bank accounts, purchase necessities, manage businesses, serve customers, and make the financial decisions real adults face every day.

By navigating wants vs. needs, planning for unexpected costs, and collaborating with peers to keep their businesses running smoothly, students build confidence, independence, and real-world financial capability.

BizTown® Mobile helps students understand how education connects to future career success — empowering them to imagine their place in the community and the economy.
