Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa is thrilled to spotlight Colene Stauffer, who joined our Education team in August as an Education Coordinator! Though she’s only been with JAEI a short time, Colene already brings a warm, mission-driven passion to her role—supporting volunteers and educators as they create enriching, hands-on learning experiences for students across Eastern Iowa.
As an Education Coordinator, Colene works closely with volunteers and educators to support meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for students across Eastern Iowa. Though she’s only been in her role a short time, she already feels deeply connected to the mission.
“The most rewarding part of working at JAEI is knowing that the work we do will positively impact our community as students gain knowledge and skills that will enable them to be engaged citizens and future leaders.”
Colene is especially excited to experience JA’s full range of programs firsthand this school year and see the direct impact they have in classrooms. She believes early financial literacy is essential for helping young people make informed decisions and enter adulthood with confidence.
Her own biggest financial lesson?
“Not spending money you don’t have! Credit can be helpful when used wisely, but it can also become a never-ending cycle of poor decisions.”
Outside of work, you may be surprised to learn that Colene is an avid Florida Panthers fan—cheering loudly for her team every season!
Looking ahead, Colene is eager to support schools, empower students, and help shape the next generation of leaders. She also encourages community members to get involved.
“JA provides opportunities for people from all different backgrounds to share their experiences and make a positive impact. Volunteering is a great way to support our mission—and it’s as rewarding for the volunteer as it is for the students.”
Welcome to the team, Colene! We’re excited to see the impact you’ll make.
